Gregory Thomas Jones, 69, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Memorial Services will be held at 5:00pm Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Frio Baptist Church in Hereford, Texas with Pastor James Peach officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Gregory Thomas Jones was born on October 1, 1945 in Littlefield, Texas to George Harley and Elsie Pearl Jones. He graduated from Hereford High School. Greg married Carol Manion March 26, 1965 in Frio Baptist Church in Hereford, Texas. He owned and operated Jones Automotive Repair from 1998-2005 located in Edgewood, New Mexico. Gregory was skilled with his hands, repairing cars with ease and expert skill. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George H. and Elsie Pearl Jones; a brother, George Jones; and a sister Judy Smith-Bose.
Gregory is survived by his wife, Carol Jones; his daughters Shannon Burnam and husband Randy, and Tammy Welty all of Amarillo; three grandsons, Tanner Burnam, David and Lesa Burnam, and Bud Burnam; two granddaughters, Kerstin Welty and Chelsea Welty all of Amarillo; four great grandchildren, Izabell, Lane, Josh, and Caden; a brother Harley Jones and wife Anita of Anson, Texas; a sister Janet Treadway; and several nieces and nephews.
