Gregory "Poyo" Cortez, 50, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, February 26, 2016 in Llano Cemetery with Pastor Ray Ramos Amarillo Para Cristo, officiating. LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Street.
Greg was born on November 20, 1965 in Amarillo, Texas to Joe and Eloisa Cortez. He loved his family and had such a big heart. Greg was quite the handyman around the neighborhood. He was alway willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Elosia Cortez, and two infant brothers.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Joe Cortez Jr. and his wife, Sadie, David Cortez, Reuben Cortez, Susan Cortez, Maria Fajardo and her husband, Raymond, all of Amarillo, Texas, Steven Cortez and his wife, Karen of Reno, Nevada, and Jerry Cortez and his wife Debbie, of Waxahachie, Texas; 39 nieces and nephews, and 37 great nieces and nephews.
