Gloria Mendez, age 85, of Amarillo passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. A time for the family to receive friends will be Monday. March 31, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 10:00 am at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel. Interment will follow at Llano East Cemetery.
Gloria was born in Poteet, Tx and has lived in Amarillo, moving here from Hereford, where she worked as a chart nurse.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Isaac Mendez and a daughter Guadalupe Villareal.
Gloria is survived by three sons Isaac Mendez of Amarillo, Richard Mendez of Fremont, Ne. and Raymundo Mendez of San Antonio and two daughters Rosa Gullien of San Antonio and Louisa Garces of Amarillo. She also leaves behind 50 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
