Glendle (Glen) Watson

July 16, 1935 — December 4, 2011

Glendle (Glen) Randolph Watson 76, went to his heavenly home December 4, 2011.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at Coulter Road Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Roberson officiating.  Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa.  Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter St. Amarillo, TX.

Glen was born July 16, 1935, in Harmon County, Oklahoma to Warner and Eliza Watson. He married Melba (Coble) on December 9, 1955; God gave them almost 56 years together.  They spent most of their married life in Pampa, TX, and were faithful members of Hobart Baptist Church nearly 50 years. Glen served in many capacities: usher, greeter and chairman of the building and grounds. He helped with the total remodel of the church. He loved taking care of God’s House.

Glen also owned and leased several group homes to Texas Mental Health and Mental Retardation.

In April 2007, he moved to Amarillo and was a faithful member of Coulter Road Baptist church, Senior Adult Sunday School Department, The Joy Singers, and the LLL Club.

He is survived by his wife, Melba of the home; one son, Randy Watson and wife Becky of Pampa, TX; two brothers, Warner Watson of Hollis, OK, and Ben Watson of El Paso, TX; a sister, Joyce Jeter of Clovis, NM; grandchildren, Ricky Watson of Pampa, TX, Amy and Jay Belcher, Andrew and Sarah Watson, Briana Watson and Bianca Watson, all of Amarillo; great-grandchildren, Lachlan, Aidan, London, Adeline and Haleigh and a stepgrandchild, Everett, all of Amarillo; many nieces and nephews and a host of wonderful friends!

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers E.W. of Norwalk, CA and Jessie of Amarillo, and his son, Brian Watson, in 2009 of Amarillo, TX.

Memorials are to Olivia’s Angels, C/O BSA Hospice or Coulter Road Baptist Church Building Fund.
