Memorial mass for Gilbert F. Romero of Tucumcari will be Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11:00 am held at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Mr. Romero passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015 in Amarillo, Texas. Burial will follow at Tucumcari Memorial Park.
Gilbert F. Romero was born July 16, 1950 in Tucumcari, New Mexico to Alfonso and Corine Romero. He graduated from Tucumcari High School. He resided in Tucumcari where he raised two daughters, Sacha and Leaja. He was a humble and simple man who loved fishing, shooting pool, playing cards, ping-pong and treasure hunting at every yard sale he could find. But most of all he loved being a dad and grandpa and making memories with his beloved grandchildren.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso and Corine Romero, brothers, Tito and Danny Romero and sisters, Viola Davis and Patsy Martinez.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sacha Trujillo and husband Alex of Albuquerque, Leaja Neese and husband Joe of Amarillo, a sister, Gloria Zacarias and husband Paul "Wagon" of Tucumcari, along with 8 grandchildren whom he dearly loved.
