Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday June 16, 2012 at Covenant Fellowship Church, 1731 S. Avondale, with Rev. Steve Gaines officiating.

Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery by LaGrone-Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors.

Gertrude was born in Guymon, OK June 5, 1920, to Hulda and Walter Gumper. She moved with her family to Dalhart in 1929, and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1939.  She attended Brewer Business College in Amarillo.  She married Clark Campbell October 1, 1939; he was with the Texas Highway Department until he entered the ministry in 1951. They served a number of churches until his death in November, 1963, while serving Buchanan Street United Methodist Church in Amarillo.  Gertrude worked with the Head Start Program and the Amarillo Tax Office before retiring from the Potter-Randall Appraisal District in 1989.  She was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church where she was active in United Methodist Women many years and was instrumental in helping to create a clothes closet at the church. She taught kindergarten Sunday school class and delivered Meal on Wheels.  She also volunteered at Martha’s Home and was a tutor for the Amarillo area adult Literacy Program.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother and a sister.

She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Walden of Eager, AZ and Herma Porter of Pilot Grove, MO; two sons, Larry of Amarillo, and Robert (Bob) of Albany, GA; two daughters, Kay Rainey of Dallas, and Dr. Janet Matthews of Tulsa, OK, along with nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
