Gerdi Dietz, 73, of Memphis, Texas died on Sunday, October 12, 2014. Memorial Services will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 18, 2014 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with C.W. Parker, chaplain of Gentiva Hospice officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Gerdi was born on October 25, 1941 in Germany. She was a dietician at Northwest Texas Hospital for over 20 years until she retired. Gerdi loved to sew and make her own envelopes. She also loved to type on old typewriters and she was an avid gardner. Gerdi also like to go for walks.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Holt and husband Juno of Amarillo; two sons, Jerry Honaker and wife Sandy of Ft. Worth and Gary Honaker and wife Catherine of Arkansas; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the staffs of Gentiva Hospice and Memphis Convalescent Care for the love and care that they gave to Gerdi.
