Georgia Irene Haskins, 78 of Amarillo passed away on January 4, 2012.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 555 E. Hastings, with Pastor Roger Smith officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, Amarillo, TX. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Georgia was born on September 24, 1933 in Jasper, TN to Lewie and Rosa Lee McKinley. She worked in the medical field in various positions including housekeeping and care-giving both in the hospital and in patient homes. She enjoyed dancing in her free time. Georgia’s greatest passion was her family and being a mother.
The survivors left to cherish her memory are her children, Rosa Bollinger of Amarillo, Hershel Haskins of Angleton, TX, Lynn Haskins (widow of Robert Haskins) of Amarillo, George Haskins and wife LaVon of Lubbock, Mark Haskins and wife Mary of Amarillo, Jerry “Bruce” Haskins and wife Deborah of Logan, NM, Timmy Haskins of Irving, TX, Christopher Haskins and wife Vanesa of Amarillo and Douglas Haskins of Amarillo; 23 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; brother, Marvin Odell McKinley of Amarillo; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and boyfriend, Larry Thrasher.
