George Anderson Haskins 60, of Lubbock, died on Thursday, November 26, 2015. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, November 30, 2015 at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.
George was born on October 27, 1955 in Nashville, Tennessee to Hershel Sr. and Georgia Irene Haskins. He graduated from Amarillo High School. George served in the United States Army. He moved to Lubbock where he worked as a Nurse Tech at Covenant Health System for 38 years, and he also worked as a bus driver for Greyhound for many years. He married LaVon Canaday on July 12, 2000 in Lubbock. George enjoyed woodworking and was a collector of many treasures.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Robert Haskins, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, LaVon; a sister, Rosa Haskins Bollinger; brothers, Mark Haskins, Hershel Haskins, Jr., Timmy Haskins, Bruce Haskins, Chris Haskins, and Doug Haskins; step children, Denise McIntosh, and Geoffrey McIntosh; 2 step grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 3:00 until 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
