Genevieve Wright

Genevieve Wright, 83, of Amarillo passed from this life on Wednesday, August 29, 2018. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 4, 2018 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Road.

Genevieve was born on May 21, 1935 in Ozark, Missouri to Clyde and Gladys Haslip. She grew up on the family farm in the Ozark area. Genevieve married Frank D. Wright on May 24, 1955 in Ozark, Missouri. They moved to Amarillo in 1963 where she was a homemaker. She loved being outdoors working in the yard; traveling with her husband and family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Gladys Haslip, husband, Frank D. Wright and son in law, Brent Mulkey.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Curtis Wright and wife, Katherine, Scott Wright and wife, Diann, Dawna Mulkey, Jody Wright and wife, Joyce; four grandchildren, Crystal Mata, Brandon Wright and wife, Melissa, Cody Wright and wife, Joanne and Clifton Mulkey and wife, Lauren; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Junior Haslip, Jack Haslip and wife, Margaret; and numerous extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to BSA Hospice of the Southwest.
