Geneva May Bumpus, 98, of Amarillo died on Saturday, January 24, 2015. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Geneva was born in Stewart, Minnesota on November 21, 1916 to Thom and Rhodella Farley. She married Lawrence Bumpus on January 2, 1943 in Amarillo, Texas. Geneva has been a resident of Amarillo since the early 40's, and is known as the neighborhood grandmother always ready with a smile and warm meal. She had a great sense of humor and was an even better domino player. She enjoyed reading, watching T.V. and loved her grandchildren. She also loved music and dancing; able to dance now. Geneva is a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence, three sisters and three brothers.
Geneva is survived by her daughters, Judy Urvan and Helen Jennings both of Amarillo, and Beverly Holloway and husband Patrick of Conway, Arkansas; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many other nieces, and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:30 - 7:00 pm, Monday, January 26, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.
