Gayla Rene' Taylor, 55 of Amarillo, died on Friday, August 7, 2015. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am., Friday, August 14, 2015 at Valleyview Church of The Nazarene with Pastor Larry Dunlap, officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangement are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Director, 8310 S Coulter Road.

Gayla was born in Amarillo, Texas  on May 8, 1960 to Deward Wayne and Nancy Fay Gibson. She attended Olsen Elementary School, Crockett Middle School and Amarillo High School. Gayla married Curtis Dean Taylor on August 23, 1980 in Amarillo, Texas. She worked as a Barber at Kye's Barber Shop. Gayla and her husband  owned and operated Taylor Furniture and T & T Furniture. She loved to watch her grandchildren from the sidelines at their games or at the race track. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Deward W. Gibson, granddaughter, Hope Dockery, and sister in law, Sandy Gibson.

She is survived by her husband, Curtis; son,  Justin Taylor;  daughter, Destiney Cates, and husband, Scot, all of Amarillo;  mother, Nancy Gibson, of Oklahoma City; brothers, Dennis Gibson, of Oklahoma City, Brad Gibson and his wife, Lynn, of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Austen, Brayden,Brycen, Noah, Breklyn and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Valleyview Church of The Nazarene at 7601 S Western, Amarillo, TX 79110.
