Gary Lynn Wilson

Gary L. Wilson, 64, of Amarillo passed from this life on Sunday, October 21, 2018. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life on 10:00 am Tuesday, October 30, 2018 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel with his niece, Rev. Heather Reed, officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.

Gary L. Wilson was born on July 31, 1954 in Amarillo to Jesse Francis and Betty Jo Wilson. He grew up in Amarillo. He joined the United States Navy in 1975 where he served his country proudly on the USS Bradley. Gary married Wanda Bain on May 1, 1981 in Dallas, Texas. He worked as a brick layer in Dallas before returning to the Amarillo area with his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 37 years, Wanda Wilson; a son, Jason Wilson; a daughter, Jessica Wilson, a sister, Kaye McColl and husband, Don; a brother, David Wilson; five grandchildren, Eaon, Camille, Jayla, Jack and Logan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
