Gary Lee Seymour, 71 of Amarillo passed from this life on Thursday, January 31, 2019. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 9, 2019 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter Road.
Gary was born on January 6, 1948 to Clarence and LaNora Seymour in San Fernando, California. He moved to Amarillo, at the age of one, where he was raised. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1966. After high school he joined the United States Army where he served in Vietnam. Gary worked as a mechanic. He was a Ford man. He once owned a rare original Limited addition 1964 Ford Thunder Bolt. He loved drag racing and going to the drag strips. He and his dad fixed up an 1957 Ford that he enjoyed racing all around town. He enjoyed riding motor cycles and going camping. Gary had lots of friends in Amarillo who loved and cared for him. He had several nicknames over the years, in high school he was known as See-less, in his later years Sea Biscuit, but he was always Bubba to his sister, Carol. He will be missed by all who know and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in law, Don Honea.
Left to cherish his memory is his only sister, Carol Honea; daughters, Toni Howard and Shelly Myers; grandchildren, Madison and Zach Howard and Ashland and Wade Myers; nieces, Kimberly Maxwell and Leisa Kite; and many aunts, uncles, great nieces, great nephews, countless cousins and many close friends.
