Gary Allan Garrett

Gary A. Garrett, 69 of Amarillo passed away on Nov. 17, 2013. Memorial services will be at 11am Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Hillside Christian Church Chapel at 6100 S. Soncy with Pastor Chris Condit officiating. LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel is in charge of arrangements

Gary was born on Nov. 20, 1943 in Corpus Christi unto Henry Leon and Mary Lee Roberts Garrett. He grew up in Clovis New Mexico graduating from high school there. In ______ he joined the US Navy where he served for 4 years. The Navy stationed Gary in Escondido, CA where he graduated from Loma Linda University with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy. While in Loma Linda Gary met the love of his life Jennifer Burge. They married on Sept. 10, 1966 in Escondido. They recently celebrated 47 years of marriage. Gary contracted physical therapy work throughout the Panhandle. Gary was a man who loved the Lord with every breath he had.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother Theo, two grandsons Kaide and Kyler Garrett.
Gary is survived by his wife Jennifer of the home, a son Travis Garrett and his wife Hylie of Canyon, a daughter Tracy Garrett Pitts and husband Todd Amarillo. A brother Ron Garrett and his wife Jan and a sister Jan McIntosh all of Clovis. Five grandchildren, Taylor, Tanner, Taryn, Brooklynne and Brytton One great grandson Cason
