Gabriel Brennan Barrick
July 29, 1979 – August 5, 2013
Gabe Barrick, age 36, of Amarillo passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013. Memorial services will be Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 2:30 pm at St. Stephen Church, 4600 S. Western, with Rev. Kurt Oheim, pastor of Pinnacle Community Church, officiating.
Gabe was born on July 29, 1977 in Amarillo to Bruce and Teri (Wright) Barrick. He was a graduate of Texas A&M University class of 2000 and worked as the CFO of the family-owned commercial construction company, Diversified Interiors of Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his mother, Teri, and grandparents, Charles and Arleen Wright and Melvin Sittel.
Gabe was a loving son, brother, husband, father and friend. He was full of life and loved his dear old Texas Aggies. Gabe always found peace on a snow packed mountain riding his Burton snowboard while listening to Metallica. He will be sorely missed watching Texas Rangers games on the couch with his boys while holding and playing with his daughter. He loved nothing more than playing baseball with his children and taking spur of the moment vacations with his wife. “Uncle Dude” will always hold a special place in the hearts of his nieces and nephews and will be dearly missed by the numerous people whose lives he touched.
Gabe leaves behind his wife, Amber, whom he married in 2009, his daughter, Ava, and two sons, Jackson and Brady. Also left behind is his father Bruce and wife Debby Barrick of Ft. Worth, sisters Amanda and husband Lance Long of Amarillo and Tamara Lane of Dallas, and a brother, Barrett and wife Vicky Lane of Ft. Worth. His grandparents, Leonard and wife Donna Barrick and Joan Sittel, all of Amarillo, also survive him. Gabe also leaves behind nephews and nieces Jaxson, Elijah and Shiloh Long and Staylee and Caleb Lane.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Gabe’s children at Happy State Bank in care of the Barrick Family.
