Frederick Doc Allen

Frederick “Doc” Allen, Jr. was the 2nd of five children, born on November 6, 1949 in Amarillo, Texas.
He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for 54 years. He united with Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Morris Mitchell in 2007, and he was a faithful member until his demise.
He was united in marriage to Alva Allen for 19 & ½ years. The beautiful life and earthly journey of Fred Doc Allen, Jr. ended after 64 years of prosperous living before he awakened on, February 17, 2014, when he transitioned to eternal life.
“Doc” was preceded by his beloved parents Frederick Doc, Sr. and Evelyn Allen, two sons, Gary and Roderick, one daughter, Kimberly. The viewing will be held Friday, February 21, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw, 1505 Martin Rd., Amarillo, Texas 79107. The funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1015 N. Monroe St., Amarillo, TX 79107 . Burial will be held at Llano Cemetery.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife, Alva, 3 sons: Barry, Marcellus and Manuel of Amarillo, 2 daughters, Alicia Allen and Talia Riley of Amarillo, 4 sisters, Kae Allen-Cooper of Houston, TX., Pamela Allen of Dallas, TX., Phyllis Nickerson and Amelia Joy Allen of Amarillo, TX., one aunt, Lillie Mae Anderson of Los Angeles, California, 6 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the entire church family of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
