Fred Urioste

Fred Pete Urioste, 87, of Amarillo passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021. Fred was born on May 11, 1933 in Boise City, OK to J.C. Urioste and Carolina Anaya. Rosary will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at 6:00 PM at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Funeral mass will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 1, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Tony Neusch as celebrant. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Fred served in the military as part of the 85th Engineering Battalion of the United States Army. He then worked for the Santa Fe Railway for 46 years before retiring. Fred was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking and playing around with his grandchildren. Fred will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Juanita Urioste.

He is survived by his children, Patricia Smith of Amarillo, TX, Gloria and Moses Arellano of Wichita, KS, Fred and Gloria Urioste of Amarillo, TX and Norma Briscoe of Amarillo, TX; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
