Frances Marie Grimland
Frances Marie Grimland, 88, formerly of Amarillo passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Pastor Bob Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Frances was born on November 27, 1929 in Hedley, TX to Richard and Edna Dingler Sr. She graduated from Clarendon High School and then Clarendon Junior College. She married Gene Grimland in Ashtola, TX on November 25, 1950. Frances was a librarian for Amarillo Independent School District for over twenty years. Being a librarian, she was an avid reader and loved to work crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed doing any kind of arts and crafts. Frances had also worked in a floral shop and nursery where she really enjoyed making floral arrangements. She also loved working in her yard and garden and was known for her beautiful yard covered in flowers, but most of all, Frances loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, a brother, Richard Dingler Jr. and a sister, Mary Joyce Watkins.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Chappell and husband Mitch and Beverly Bird and husband Eddie; one granddaughter, Amy Kitchens and husband Cody; three grandsons, Justin Bird and wife Jenny, Garrett Bird and wife Amanda and Kendrick Bird and wife Lauren; eight great grandchildren, Gideon Kitchens, Asher Kitchens, Annmarie Kitchens, Parker Bird, Beckett Bird, Hudson Bird, Harlow Bird and Holden Bird and four sisters, Ruby Jewell Hardin, Jo Ellen Cowan, Glenna Cash and husband Robert and Catherine Trimble and husband Duane.
