Feliciano " Chano" Rodriguez, 85, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Monsignor Rex Nicholl as Celebrant. Burial will be held at Llano Cemetery. Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm, Friday, December 19, 2014 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.
Feliciano "Chano" Rodriguez was born on June 9, 1929 in Las Cruces, NM to Emilio and Benita Rodriguez. Chano played baseball and was a golden gloves boxer. He worked and retired from Santa Fe Railroad. Chano's greatest joy was volunteering at Wesley Community Center and in 1991, he received the Golden Rule award for his volunteer work. Chano was beloved by all and will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but they look forward to joining him in heaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Leonzo.
He is survived by two sons; David Rodriguez and wife Tricia and Tom Rodriguez and wife Sheila, both of Amarillo; three daughters, Vicky Munoz of Amarillo, Lisa Shaw and Stefanie Harmon, both of Dallas; three sisters, Leonor Perez, Elena Magallanes and husband Antonio and Anastacia Renteria and husband Luis, all of Amarillo and a brother, Alejandro Rodriguez of Wilmington, CA; he is also survived by two grandsons, John Munoz and wife Michelle of Dallas and Robert Shaw and wife Catrina of Midland; two granddaughters, Heather Najera and husband Ray of Amarillo and Danielle Harmon of Dallas; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
