Evelyn Rosezene Redmond

Evelyn Rosezene Redmond, 71, of Amarillo died on Thursday, June 18, 2015. Funeral services will be at 6:00 pm, Thursday, June 25, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel with Pastor Herman Moore of Carter Chapel Primitive Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.
Rosezene was born on April 4, 1944 in Gilmer, TX to Luella Nelson and Neal Smith. She attended school in Wellington and graduated from Morningside High in Memphis, TX in 1962. She lived in many different places - including Denver, California, and Phoenix before settling in Amarillo where she spent the remainder of her life with family and friends who affectionately called her "Elb". Before retiring, Rosezene worked for many years as a home health care provider where she graciously and tenderly cared for the ill offering them hope for tomorrow. Rosezene will be especially remembered for her quick wit, spirit of adventure, kind heart, and the tenacious laugh we all loved to hear.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward Redmond, her sisters, Huelene Phillips and Goldie Holleman, and brothers, Bobby Beasley Sr. and James Reece.
She is survived by four sisters, Juanita Walker of Amarillo, Linda Fields of Arlington, Mary Timmons of Dallas and Martha Harris of Clarendon and one brother, Jimmy Reece of Amarillo.
