Esperanza was born December 30, 1935 to Guadalupe and Agustin Ramos in the Rio Grande Valley in Flor de Mayo Ranch, something that made her very proud.
She married Jose Angel Hernandez in Plainview, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Jose Hernandez, 5 daughters, Janie Trevino, Rosa Pope, Esperanza Alegria, Lupe Reynosa, and Maria Celaya; 5 sons, Xavier Hernandez, George Hernandez, Jesse Hernandez, Martin Hernandez, and Jimmy Hernandez; a sister, Carmen Sanchez, 2 brothers, Faustino Ramos and Domingo Ramos, 38 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Fancisca Trevino, a son, Clemente Hernandez, and a brother, Jose Ramos.
Esperanza was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid bingo player, loved listening to mariachi music, and made the best tortillas ever.
Her wise words, wit, and laughter will be sorely missed by all of us who loved her as she always had just the right words of advice. Esperanza was a strong woman of strong moral character and convictions. She was a fighter all the way through the end of her journey with us. She knew we loved her dearly but took comfort in the fact that she would meet her creator. Undoubtedly, we will miss her but her life was well lived and now she is in a better place with her lord and savior.
