Ernest Lee Morris

Ernest Lee Morris, 77, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024, in Amarillo.  He was born on November 24, 1946, in Amarillo.  Mr. Morris previously worked at ASARCO and Pete’s Tire Shop.  He served four years in the Army.  Ernest loved to fish, play Dominoes, and watch football.

He is preceded in death by his mother Katherine Morris Swain, sister Doris Swain and stepfather Mathis Swain.

He is survived by two sisters Ocie Thomas, Ophelia Morris, and one brother, Johnny Howard, all of Amarillo.  He is also survived by his nieces: Devoura Burks, O’Dena Howard, Rashunda (Verporeum) Ashley, Adrienne (Eric) Mims, all of Amarillo, his nephews: Harold Thomas, Jr., Darrell Howard, both of Amarillo, and Gregory Thomas of Irving, Texas, along with many other special nieces, nephews, and loved ones--especially two special friends Frankie Johnson of Colorado and Terry Payne of California.
