Erik Fernando Valdez

Erik Fernando Valdez, aka Big Dawg, 30, of Amarillo, Texas passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2023. Erik was born on March 9, 1993 in Amarillo, Texas to Emma Lozano and Fernando Valdez.

Erik is remembered for being caring, a good listener, a good friend, making others laugh, being supportive and dependable, and for always checking in on others. He is a cherished and loved son, brother, uncle, cousin, godfather, and friend. He enjoyed watching sports, playing slots, and listening to rap music.

He is preceded in death by his brother Aaron Valdez and his grandparents Antonio and Mercedes Manríquez.

He is survived by his parents Emma Lozano and Fernando Valdez (Edith) of Amarillo, Texas; his brother Fernando Valdez Jr; three sisters: April Reyes (Cesar), Iris Tafoya (Phillip), and Noemi Valdez; four nephews: Ace Garcia, Izaiah Mendoza, Ethan Reyes, and Elijah Reyes; two nieces Zoey and Leah Tafoya; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who are considered family.

Erik is dearly missed and will never be forgotten.
