Elsie Lorena Fenton, 93, of Gainesville, Florida, former Amarillo resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 23, 2017 in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Street.

Elsie was born on January 31, 1924 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Otis and Zella Cook. She worked as a machinist and retired from Metro Electric, where she met her husband Rollin Gene Fenton. Elsie moved to Gainesville, FL in 2001 to live with her granddaughter. She was a former member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and was a current member at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Gainesville, FL.

Mrs. Fenton was preceded in death by her husband Rollin Gene Fenton, her son Jimmy Royce Sims and a brother Dean Cunningham.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Leslie Sims Lane and her husband, Jeff and great grandson, Jeffrey Austin Lane; great granddaughters, Amanda and Courtney Lane; all of Gainesville, Florida; a grandson Deon Johnson and wife Naomi and their children and grandchildren, of College Station, Texas; a brother, Kenneth J. Cunningham of Cadiz, Kentucky, sister in law, Betty Cunningham of Moore, Oklahoma; her Amarillo family includes David Fenton, Bethany and Joe Rascoe, Susan and Anthony Young, Ruth and Donald Moore, Peggy and Mitchell Armstrong, 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
