Eloy Valverde Sr, 64, of Amarillo died on Friday, February 20, 2015. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm with Rosary being recited at 6:00 pm at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at St. Laurence Catholic Church with Father Antonio Galindo as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Llano East Cemetery.
Eloy Valverde Sr. was born on January 6, 1951 in Bracketville, TX to Miguel and Estella Valverde. He was the owner/operator of Valverde Trucking. Eloy loved to go hunting with his family and always made sure that no one was left behind. He also loved to go cruising on his motorcycle (at Grandpa speed)! Eloy was loved by everyone and never met someone that he did not consider them his friend, but most of all, Eloy loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lucille, a brother Harvey and a sister Margie Torres.
He is survived by his son, Eloy Valverde Jr. and Maisie of Amarillo; a daughter, Laurie Castellanos and husband Jesus of Amarillo; a brother Miguel Valverde and Tony Valverde of Granbury; six sisters, Mary Garcia and husband Rudy and Angie Valverde, both of Dumas, Martha Valverde, Linda Trevino and husband Jesse, Martha Granith and husband Keith, all of Granbury and Anita Durr and husband E.J. of Angleton; eight grandchildren; Ceceila, Amanda, Rebecca, Desire, Eloy III, Jesus III, Deillah and Lorenzo; seven great grandchildren; Emiliano, Marcello, Angelina, Alyvia, Delilah, Cyrene and Xarissa and a very close family friend, Abel Bernal and wife Jessica of Amarillo.
