Ella Jean Fick, 84, of Amarillo died on Saturday, May 23, 2015. Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm, Friday, May 29, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 30, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Scott Raef as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Claude Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Ella Jean Fick was born on January 1, 1931 in Claude to Harry and Thelma Neely. She graduated Valedictorian of her class from Amarillo High School and Western Republic College. Jean was the bookkeeper for St. Mary's Catholic Church for over 25 years. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy game shows, reading and working crossword puzzles. The medical community told Jean that she was the only one that they knew of that survived MS for over 50 years in the Texas panhandle.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her son, Jay of Amarillo; a daughter, Sandra O'Neil of Mansfield; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
