Ella Mae Dowdy, 80, of Amarillo passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2014 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter with Pastor Charles White officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel 8310 S. Coulter.
Ella Mae Dowdy was born on August 29, 1933 to James and Nellie Treadaway in Bowlegs, OK. She married John Dowdy on September 11, 1956 in Lordsburg, NM. Ella was an LVN for St. Anthony’s Hospital, Home Health Care and the J.O. Wyatt clinic until she retired. Ella loved being outdoors with her family on summer camping trips. She loved Palo Duro Canyon, Ute Lake and Quartz Mountain Lake. Ella loved the Lord and reading the Bible. She had a passion for the scripture and teaching everyone about the love of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, a son John and a daughter Diane.
Include 2 Granddaughters, Jessica Barnett and husband Glen of Jacksonville, NC and Brandy Jones and husband Calvin of Amarillo; 4 Grandsons, Jeremy West, Dustin Brandstatt and wife Heather, Bryan Brandstatt and wife Erin and Devin Brandstatt and wife Nydia, all of Amarillo; a daughter in law Barbara Brandstatt, also of Amarillo and 10 Great Grandchildren.
