Elizabeth was born on May 11, 1936 in Tioga, WV to William and Gertrude Barnette. She graduated from South Charleston High School and married the" love" of her life Jim Silman on February 5, 1955 in Charleston. Elizabeth loved decorating and was an expert quilter. Her sewing room was the envy of any seamstress/quilter. She enjoyed dressing up and wearing fancy shoes and furs. She was also an excellent cook known for oatmeal raisin cake. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening and taking care of her dsisies and she also loved to travel to the casinos where she played the slots and blackjack, but the thing she loved the most was being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a sister to her family. Sitting in the floor playing with her grandchildren was one of her favorite things to do and she will be dearly missed by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Silman; a daughter, Kathy Vance; a son, Keith Silman and Toni Lambert; two granddaughters and five great grandchildren.
