Elida Garcia

Elida G. Garcia, 72 of Amarillo passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 24, 2019 at Comanche Trail Church of Christ with Pastor Alan Morris and Pastor David Pounds officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, Thursday, May 23, 2019 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.

Elida was born on June 24, 1946 in Villa Union, Coahuila Mexico to Francisco and Maria Guzman. She married the love of her life, Ramon Garcia on January 25, 1965 in Villa Union. Elida was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother to her husband and family for fifty four years. She loved the Lord and was always reading her bible. Elida was a great cook and loved getting her family together to cook for all of them and was known for her chili rellenos, tamales, fried potatoes and mole.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Uziel; three brothers, Leonardo Guzman, Lorenzo Guzman and Benjamin Guzman and her granddaughter, Kristen Garcia.

She is survived by her husband, Ramon; her daughter, Claudia Aragon and husband Carlos; three sons, Omar Garcia and wife Amy, Efrain Garcia and Ramon Garcia and wife Sheila; two brothers, Samuel Guzman and Joel Guzman; nine grandchildren, Nikolas Garcia, Nicole Garcia, Ellie Aragon, Tessa Aragon, Maggie Aragon, Reagan Garcia, Brynn Garcia, Reese Garcia and Heather Dainty and numerous other family members.
