Funeral service will be at 11am Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Northside United Pentecostal Church with Pastor Rodger Johnson officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Wapanucka, OK Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 10 am.

Edward was born on February 24, 1938 in Russett, OK to Dora Young and Ada May Benge. He grew up in Ravia, OK and graduated from Ravia High School in 1956. Edward married Nancy Hackworth June 19, 1959. Edward loved working on cars, telling stories and taking care of friends and family. Edward never met a stranger and was a real people person. He loved his family above all and doted on his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Edward was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Leslie Benge; sisters, Lorene Benge and Edna Gossage; brothers, Leroy, Eugene, Orbia, Delton and Cletis.

Edward is survived by his wife, Nancy of Amarillo; a daughter, Lynette Benge of Amarillo; a son, Gary Benge and wife Christy of Amarillo; a sister, Wanda Faye Akins of Ravia, OK; a brother, Chester Benge and wife Daisy of Ravia, OK;  grandsons, Jordan Benge and wife Cortnie of Amarillo and Jim Wells of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Kristen Wells of Amarillo; a great-granddaughter, Kaytie Benge of Amarillo and a great-grandson, Tate Wells of Amarillo; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will accept guests and friends Monday June 27, 2016 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
