Edna Louise Shelton, 95, of Amarillo passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 7, 2017 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S Coulter Road with her son in law, Marcus L. Yancey officiating.
Edna was born on September 13, 1922 in Amarillo to Arthur and Ola Mae Smith. She grew up in Amarillo where she graduated from Amarillo High School. She married Thomas B. Shelton on January 1, 1949. She was a payroll supervisor for Diamond Shamrock for over 30 years. She was a member of South Georgia Baptist Church.
She was an avid sports fan. As a young girl she would go to baseball games with her dad where she learned to keep the statistics for every game and every player. She was a die hard Texas Longhorn fan and did not like to be disturbed when they were playing. You could call before, at halftime or after the game, but do not interrupt the game. Edna was also an avid bridge player. In later life she learned to golf.
Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and a brother.
She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Yancey and husband, Marc and Lisa Kimbrell and husband, Jeffrey; three grandsons, Robert Aaron Rogers, Blake Austin Rogers and Colter Declan Yancey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
