Edith Ellen Wills, 89 of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 2pm at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas. The family will receive visitors from 5-7pm on Friday, March 28, 2025, at LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Coulter Road Chapel.
Edith Wills, born on December 5, 1935, in Colbert, Oklahoma, to Clark Wilson and Eunice Rice. She grew up in Colbert and attended school there. Edith married Dale Webster Wills, and together they shared 67 years of love and partnership until his passing in 2020.
Edith dedicated over 30 years of service working in the cafeteria for the Amarillo Independent School District, where she was a familiar and cherished presence. A talented seamstress, Edith lovingly created clothing for her children and grandchildren, and her passion for quilting led to the creation of many beautiful quilts, which have been passed down through the generations.
Known for her strong opinions and spirited nature, Edith was never one to shy away from a debate, and in an argument with her, you likely wouldn’t stand a chance of winning. But beneath her bold exterior, she was a pillar of support for her family and loved ones, always there in times of need, particularly when someone was sick or hurting
Edith was a member of Lifeway Fellowship Baptist Church. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Gable, Sammy and Jackie; her sisters, Dixie, Jane, Peggy, Mildred and Violet and her two granddaughters, Angela and Jennifer.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are her children, Wesley Wills and wife, Janette, Larry Wills and wife, Cathy and Lisa Wills; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
