Edith Ozella Crow, 88, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St., with the Rev. Glen Adams of Parkview Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.
Mrs. Crow was born Jan. 8, 1924, and raised in Killeen, where she graduated as valedictorian of the class of 1943 at Killeen High School. She moved to Amarillo with her family in 1954 and worked for more than 30 years at various Russell Stover Candy Stores in Amarillo. She was a longtime member of Parkview Christian Church. She loved to work and began working at Drug Emporium at the age of 80. She worked there until the age of 86, which was two years ago.
Mrs. Crow loved to read, was a great cook and was always known for being a caregiver. She was an eloquent Christian lady of beauty and grace who loved the Lord and loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.B. Crow; a brother, Arnold Fewell; a sister, Elouise Moore; and a great-grandson, Trenton Joseph Cates.
Survivors include a daughter, Annette Cates and husband Ronald of Amarillo; a son, James Crow and wife Peggy of Panhandle; a sister, Edna Forbes of Amarillo; a brother, Arthur Fewell and wife Patsy of Dumas; seven grandchildren, Ronald Cates Jr. and wife Amy and Jodi Cates, all of Amarillo, Dustin Crow of Chicago, Dena Yorgen and husband Nick of Dayton, Ohio, Jeremey Britten and wife Jennifer of Abilene, and Ryan Britten and Lori Lermon and husband Chance, all of Panhandle.
