Earl "Buddy" Wright Jr.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 in LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter.= with Rev. Dale Bigham of Arden Road Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2013
Mr. Wright was born Mar. 13, 1929 in Quitaque to Earl Wright Sr. and Pearl Jones Wright and he grew up in Hall County. He lived in California for several years while working on Grape Ranches there. He had been a resident of Amarillo for over 50 years. Buddy was a Fireman with the Amarillo Fire Department for over 34 years. He was a Member of the Masonic Lodge, the Khiva Temple and was also an ordained Baptist Minister. Mr. Wright was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, J.D. Wright and Dink Wright; two sisters, Lucille Goldsmith and Oma Lee Neely and a grandson, Judd Blanscet.
Survivors include his wife, DeLores Wright of the home; two daughters, Nita Blanscet of Lorena, TX and Linda Wheat of Mt. Airey, GA; a son, Randy Wright and wife Corine of Amarillo; three sisters, Earlene Hancock and husband Howard of Denaire, CA, Betty Dutra and husband Al of Turlock, CA and Alvie Truman of Indianpolis, IN; a brother, Bill “Son” Wright of Turlock, CA and five grandchildren, Kressa Cain and husband Corey of Amarillo, Tai Jackson and husband Kevin of Lorena, Khara Wright, David Wheat and Jamie Wheat and wife Shannon all of Amarillo.
