Dorthy Alein Milbern
February 19, 1929 — April 1, 2013
Funeral services will be at 11am Thursday April 4, 2013 at Westview Christian Church 6810 Hillside Road Amarillo, Texas with Pastor Ron Koehler officiating. Private family burial will be in Dalhart, Texas. Visitation will be 6-7pm Wednesday at the LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Home 8310 S. Coulter Rd. LaGrone Blackburn Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Dorthy was born on Feb. 19, 1929 south of Conlen, Texas unto Campbell and Lizzie Whaley Roberts. She was raised and educated in Conlin, Texas and graduated from Stratford. She married Robert Allison. She received a Masters of Education degree from West Texas State University specializing in special education. She has a teaching career that spanned over 30 years teaching in Dumas, Amarillo, Cactus, Sunray and Graham. She married Robert Milbern and they made their home in Dumas eventually moving to Amarillo in 2000.
Dorthy loved to cook, garden and spend time with her family.
Dorthy was preceeded in death by her parents and two daughters Dina and Brenda
Survivors include her husband Robert of the home, her sons Farrell Allsion and wife Debby of Greensburg, Kansas and Joe Milbern of Plainview, Texas. Five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The family requests that memorials be made to Westview Christian Church
