Dorothy Mae Walls, 83, of Amarillo died on Thursday, December 1, 2016. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 5, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel with Pastor David Veazey of Amarillo Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.
Dorothy was born on July 2, 1933 in Point, TX to Floyd and Jewell Loveday. She married the love of her life, Jim Walls in April 1967 in the Hamlet Baptist Church. Dorothy worked for Furr's Supermarket as a cashier. She loved to crochet and do crafts, but she really liked to be outside in her garden. Dorothy loved her cat and being at church with her church family, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all of her friends and her family.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Loveday and Berl Loveday; two sons, Arlis Canaster and Nelson Walls and one grand daughter, Bethany Heinrich.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; two daughters, Sheila Hull and Victoria Matlock and husband Willie; a son, James Walls and DeeAnna Jones; a sister, Claudine Mellinger; six grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
