Dorthy Stuart McKee, 77, of Amarillo passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 11, 2014 at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Rd.
Dorthy Stuart McKee was born on August 24, 1936 to David and Katy Moore in Paducah. Dorthy married Mark Stuart on December 24, 1952 in Memphis, Texas. She achieved her life long dream of becoming a LVN at the age of 50. She loved to read and work crossword puzzles. She also loved to play the piano and sing. Dorthy loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mark, her daughter Jackie Stuart and a sister Betty Brown.
She is survived by three daughters; Marka Herring and husband Steve of Quinlin, Cheryl Owensby Carlton and Lori Roberts Osborn and husband Steve, both of Amarillo; one brother, Mark Stuart Jr. of Amarillo; one sister, Patricia Cheetwood and husband James of Hooks; two brothers, Donald Moore and wife Melinda of San Angelo and David Moore and wife Margaret of Claksville; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends from 4-6 pm, Sunday, August 10 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter.
