Dorothy "Dot" McBride Cargill, 86, of Wildorado died on Sunday, December 11, 2016. Viewing will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Palo Duro Baptist Church, Wildorado, Texas with Ron Muller officiating. Burial will follow at Palo Duro Cemetery, Wildorado, Texas. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter Road.
Dorothy was born on December 28, 1929 in Amarillo to Eugene G. and Martha L. Rice. She grew up in Amarillo graduating from Amarillo High School. She attended WT where she received a B.S. in Education. Dorothy taught kindergarten and 2nd grade for over 20 years at Wildorado Elementary School. She married William G. McBride in 1949 and together they raised their three children. He preceded her in death and she later married Bill Cargill in 1999 and they moved to Lampasas where she lived until his death. She attended Washington Avenue Christian Church, Wildorado United Methodist Church and First Street Church of Christ of Lampasas. Dot enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, William McBride and Bill Cargill, a son, Allen McBride, a daughter, Barbara Christian, a granddaughter, Jennifer Renea Christian, two brothers, Ken Rice and Doug Rice and a sister, Geneva Davis.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan McBride; nieces, Jeanette Rice, Cheryl Olbert and husband Bud Olbert, Lynda Sandlin and husband, Fred; nephews Charles Davis, Rick Rice, Cliff Rice, and Bill McBride and wife Geraldine; step sons, Gerald Okerson and wife Nola, David Cargill and wife Patty; a brother, Wesley Rice and wife Margaret; grandsons, Matt Kimsey and wife Janelle, Will Kimsey, and wife Brittani, Erick Kimsey and wife Tasha and Clint Kimsey; step grandchildren, Thomas Cargill and wife Monica and Cheryl Compton and husband, Brian; and ten great grandchildren.
