Dorothy Frost, 96, of Amarillo passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019. Funeral services will be at 2 pm, Friday, October 25, 2019 with Pastor Steve Waterhouse of Westcliff Bible Church officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 5:30 - 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.
Dorothy was born on August 12, 1923 in Gustine, TX to David and Nora Mason.She graduated from Amarillo High School and married the love of her life, Charles Frost on June 12, 1944 in Bernalillo, NM and they were married for seventy two years. She was a cosmetologist and the bookkeeper for the family business, Frost A/C and Heating. Dorothy was a great cook known for her red velvet and german chocolate cakes and her love for the Wizard of Oz. Her and Charles loved to go camping, RV'ing and riding motorcycles. They were also HUGE, DIEHARD Texas Rangers fans. When traveling, they would find a television so that they could watch the game. Her family was the most important thing in her life and she loved all of them and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, her granddaughter, Jennifer Turman, five brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her three daughters, Jan Douglass, Dyvonna Melson and husband Sam and Tammie Newton and husband Kevin; four grandchildren, Carmen Lucero and husband John, Carey Spence and husband David, Jesse Melson and Josh Newton and wife Lupe and ten great grandchildren.
