Doris Jean Cagle

Doris Jean Cagle, 85, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on December 14, 2022. Doris was born on January 22, 1937, to Urben and Amzie Peterson.

She graduated from Olton High School in 1955. She married and had 3 amazing children. In the years following, she was able to raise her kids and graduate from West Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Education as a single mother. She devoted 26 years to Hereford ISD as a teacher. Doris was always faithful to the Lord. She had a love for reading, and the Hallmark channel, and was always excited for game night with her 3 best friends of more than 40 years or to playfully banter with her grandsons. Of all the things, Doris loved her family most of all. She always referred to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as her “babies”.

She will forever be missed by her son Gil & wife Ginger Cagle, daughter Gay & husband Bryon Duggan. Seven grandchildren; Terra Cagle Alexander, Bryan & Shina Cagle, Corey & Shelby Cagle, Josh & Mandie Duggan, Jordan & Allison Duggan, Luke Cagle, Lydia Cagle, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 2 pm.
