Dolores Solano, 89, of Amarillo died on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 20, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter with Chaplain Jim Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Dolores Solano was born on August 3, 1926 in Puerto DeLuna, NM to Victoriano and Lucinda Fajardo. "Red" married the love of her life, John Solano on April 18, 1949 in Santa Rosa, NM. Dolores was a homemaker taking care of her family and their house which was always spotless. She loved to cook and was known for her Mama Solano hot sauce. She was always on the go and there was never an idle moment. Dolores loved to dance, was very feisty, had a dry sense of humor and loved her family
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her husband, John; a son, Andy Solano and a daughter, Lorraine Pritchett and husband Palm, all of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Steve Solano and wife Macey and Taylor Pritchett, both of Amarillo and Lauren Convers and husband Juan of Dallas and two great grandchildren, Karsten and Emerson Solano of Amarillo and Danny Boy, the canary.
The family would like to give a very special and heartfelt thanks to Cathy Campbell and Angela Pulido for all of their love and support given to Dolores. They were considered daughters to John and Dolores.
The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 - 7:30 pm, Friday, February 19, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.
