Dollie Jeanne Grant, 84, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 9, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Stephen Gaines, pastor of Covenant Fellowship Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S Coulter Street.

Dollie was born on June 6, 1931 in Pampa, Texas to Thomas Carl and Milrea Chambliss. She married Melvin Grant on October 20, 1949 in Clovis, New Mexico. Dollie was a founding member of the Heritage Sunday School Class at San Jacinto United Methodist Church where she was a member for over 50 years.  She enjoyed dancing and  cooking, but most of all she loved her family and all her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Carl and Milrea Chambliss; two brothers, Tommie Rae Chambliss and Vaughn Leroy Chambliss and two sisters, Shirley "Billie" Dumas and Penny Sue McCormick.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Grant; son, Dickie Grant and his wife, Cynthia; daughters, Carla Proffitt, and her husband, Don, Debbie Justice and her husband, Carol; sister, Carlene Walker; grandchildren, Jason Hardman, Allison Weathers, Ricky Weathers and his wife, Sarah, Maddison Harvison and her husband, Matthew, and Seth Grant; great grandchildren, Travis Weathers, Tripp Weathers, and Cash Hardman.

Viewing will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.
