Dollie Bernice Barker, 77, of Amarillo died on Sunday, January 1, 2017. Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 5, 2017 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel with Pastor Bradley Speer, Oasis Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S Coulter Street.

Dollie Bernice was born on February 13, 1939 in Amarillo to Clarence and Hazel Henly. She was a lifelong resident of Amarillo where she raised her children. Bernice worked as an insurance agent for 35 years before retiring. She married her childhood sweetheart, Sam Barker in 1992. She was a member of Oasis Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting and crossword puzzles. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Carl W. Henly.

She is survived by her husband, Sam; children, Norris Arnn, Ellen Hunt and husband Joe, Joseph Morrison, Todd Barker and wife Dena, Carmel Barnhill and husband Randy, Camille Gutierrez and husband Robert, Tera Pearson, Casey Barker and Patience Underwood; brothers, Jim Henly and wife Joyce and Bill Henly and wife Leeza; 23 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.


The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.
