Dixie Lou Gray, 70 of Amarillo died on Sunday, January 3, 2016. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Kyle Pope, of Olsen Park Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 pm January 6, 2016 at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, Dumas, Texas. Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Arrangements by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S Coulter Street.

Dixie was born on December 20, 1945 in Meade, Kansas, to Beryl Raymond and Elsie Lou Griffith. A polio virus survivor, she graduated in 1963 from Ashland High School, Ashland, Kansas, and attended Central Business College in Denver, Colorado. Dixie worked as a corporate secretary for Samsonite and Western Electric. She married Harold Allen Gray on April 24, 1971 in Denver, Colorado, and moved to Dumas, Texas.  She later worked as a secretary for Moore County Judge Jack Powell. Dixie enjoyed singing, quilting, and keeping up with her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Allen; two daughters, Brenda Lou Martinez and her husband, Darin, and Debra Jayne Epperson, and her husband, John; brother, Vance Ray Griffith and his wife, Monica; sister in law, Linda Joan Emerson and her husband, Darrell; and her grandchildren, Jacob Cullen Martinez and Emma Lou Martinez.
