Dewey Allan Linley, 83, of Howardwick died on Sunday, July 12, 2015. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 16, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Pastor Rod Seale of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.

Dewey Linley was born on May 24, 1932 in Amarillo to Admiral and Grace Linley. He attended Amarillo High School and married the love of his life, Bettye Judd on December 8, 1951 in Ft. Worth. Dewey worked for the Ft. Worth-Denver and Burlington Northern railroad as an engineer for over 40 years. He was a lifelong member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Division 574. He was a volunteer for the Howardwick Volunteer  Fire Department and an Alderman on the City Council and also volunteered for the Donley County Meals on Wheels program. Dewey would do anything for his family and always attended his children's sporting events. He was quite the handyman and was able to build anything from houses to boats. He loved spending time at the lake where he enjoyed fishing. Bettye and Dewey enjoyed going dancing and he is dancing with the love of his life again. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his love, Bettye, a brother, Danny Vester, a brother in law, Kenneth Artis, a step brother, J.R. Linley, a sister, Sylvia Ann Artis and a grandson, Matthew Linley Golden.

He is survived by a daughter, Kim Vest and husband Michael of Amarillo; four sons, Nicky Linley and Mark Linley, both of Howardwick and Greg Linley and wife Vicki and Jeff Linley, both of Amarillo; a brother, Otis Linley of Amarillo; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends from 5:30 - 7:00 pm, Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Donley County Meals on Wheels.
