Dewey Dale Bell

73 Amarillo, TX

Dewey Bell was born August 30, 1948 to Houston and Onie Bell in Matador, Texas. He graduated from Plainview High School and studied at Wayland Baptist University.

During his early years, he had a vending machine route stocking candy and tobacco. He enjoyed that job to the fullest. We heard so many stories from that time. He later became a plumber, working in Amarillo, when he met his wife. Shortly after marriage, he went to work at Cal Farley Boy’s Ranch. Over 19 years there he did many jobs, ending as the Waste Water Manager and Mentor to many kids at the ranch. They quickly became family to him. He finished his work life at the River Road Waste Water Plant in Amarillo in 2006.

Dewey enjoyed watching his favorite NASCAR racer, Jimmy Johnson, for many years. His hobbies were fishing, wood carving, and grilling his magical chicken for his family. He loved listening to his family's daily life, even when we got too loud. He would always say, “We are right here, you don’t have to be so loud.” His family was everything to him. He was always there to listen, give advice, or teach something. No matter what we needed, he gave us his all. He will forever be our treasure.

Dewey Dale Bell is preceded in death by his father, Houston Bell, mother, Onie Bell and older sister, Wilene Oakley.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Bell, his younger sister Cindy Landcaster and husband Mike Landcaster, their sons Steve and Mark Landcaster, daughter, Melissa Andrews, and husband, Andy Andrews, their three children Cody, Chet, and Cheyenne Andrews, son Michael Bell and wife Heather Bell, their children Klhoe and Kaleb Bell, son Shane Bell and wife Natasha Bell, their son Austin Bell, son Charles Williams and wife Jamie Williams, their children Everly, Lyric, River, Ambree, Makena and Tanner Williams.
