Delvin M. Bonner, 78, of Amarillo passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Grace Church with Scott Davey officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Road.
Delvin was born on November 30, 1938 in Sunray, Texas to Delvin M. Sr. and Dorothy Lee Bonner. After graduating high school, Delvin traveled nationally working in the oilfield as a pipeline welder before putting down roots in Amarillo, where he spent many years as a diesel mechanic. Delvin was a multi-talented man and enjoyed many hobbies like woodworking, baking, candy making, and storytelling. Delvin married Lisette McAtee on August 24, 1984 in Dumas, Texas. Together the couple enjoyed raising their children and attending any and all sporting events played by his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Raymond Bonner.
He is survived by his wife, Lisette Bonner; six children, Kelly and wife Mindy Bonner, Kendall Bonner and wife Armelinda Deel, Kathy Bonner, Derek M. and Ileana Bonner, Valerie and Anthony Spanel, and Joseph Bonner; a sister, Jimmy L. Walker; nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who loved him.
