DeLores Wanette Wright, 77, of Amarillo died on Monday March 2, 2015. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday, March 6, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road chapel with Pastor Dale Bigham of Arden Road Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery.
DeLores Wanette Wright was born on October 26, 1937 in Amarillo to Johnnie and Theresa Sanders. She married Earl Wright Jr on June 2, 1970. DeLores was born again at the age of 10 at Pierce Street Baptist Church and loved the Lord and trusted his word in all facets of his life. She worked at White & Kirk, Sakowitz and Dunlaps for thirty four years and was a member of Arden Road Baptist Church. She could play the piano by ear and sang in church trios and quartets with her parents. She also traveled to sing with Lucille and Smitty Smith and Harry Hyatt. DeLores liked crossword puzzles and caring for all of the strays that passed her way, but most of all, DeLores adored her step children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her greatest pleasure was in giving and seeing the surprises in their eyes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, and a son Ricky Dilli.
She is survived by two step daughters, Nita Blanscet of Waco and Linda Wheat of Mt. Airey, GA; one step son Randy Wright and wife Corine of Amarillo; one brother, Larry Sanders and wife Jan of Bowie; five grandchildren, David Wheat, Jamie Wheat, Tai Jackson, Kressa Cain and Khara Wright; a nephew, Clay Sanders and a niece, Lorie Dee Yeatts.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:30 - 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 5, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter.
