Delores Ann Owens, 55, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Funeral service will be at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at St. John's Baptist Church, 2301 NW 14th Street with Pastor Vurn Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery East. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.
Delores was born on September 9, 1960 in Amarillo to Charlie Lee and Eudell Owens. She grew up in Amarillo where she graduated from Amarillo High School in 1979. She was a devoted mother to her two children, Kirstin and Jameel Hood. While she loved being a mother, Delores was a valued employee of Taco Villa for 25 years and she was currently working for Baymont Inn & Suites. She will be forever remembered for her beautiful smile that could light up a room. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Owens, and her great nephew, Kevin Bernard, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Hood; her children, Kirstin Owens and Valerie Bossett, and Jameel Hood; her mother, Eudell Owens; granddaughters, Keyara Owens, and Solandria Ownes; three sisters, Katherine Davis and her husband, Ronnie Davis, Gloria Gardner, and Shannon King and her husband, Ralph; two brothers, Henry Owens, and his wife Jackie, and Donald Ray Owens; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the funeral home.
